ABOUT MICHELE LUX
Lux Row Distillers is a Bardstown, Kentucky-based distiller of bourbon whiskey that is owned and operated by Luxco, Inc., of St. Louis. Luxco was founded by Paul A. Lux (Michele’s father-in-law) in 1958, as primarily a private label bottler of distilled spirits. Since that time, Luxco has grown to become a distiller, international bottler, importer, exporter, and marketer of distilled spirits and wine brands. Michele’s husband, Donn, is chairman and CEO of Luxco.
In her role at Lux Row, Michele was responsible for the entire visitor’s center, tasting room and tour design, construction and implementation. Since the grand opening in April 2018 (which she oversaw as well) Michele makes sure to visit the distillery monthly, working with the Visitor’s Center team to assure the messaging is on plan as well as hosting tours and visiting with patrons. In the first full year of operations, Lux Row has hosted over 15,000 visitors, is a member of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, has earned top ratings on Trip Advisor and was most recently voted the No. 1 new attraction to visit in Bardstown.
Michele graduated from Saint Louis University earning a bachelor’s degree in Tourism & Travel. After college she held jobs with Clipper Cruise Lines, Maritz Travel and Marriott Corporation before leaving the corporate world to raise a family.
Michele currently resides in St. Louis with her husband of 29 years, Donn, and a host of their beloved family pets. They have two adult sons. Andrew works for Boeing and lives in St. Louis, while Philip works for Luxco as a whiskey brand ambassador and resides in Louisville.
In their free time, they enjoy spending time at their family farm outside of St. Louis — Woody Creek Ranch — and at their family home in Aspen, Colorado, as well as traveling, the outdoors and all types of sporting activities.
